Patrick Fitzgerald — U.S. Attorney in Chicago to Step Down

Patrick J. Fitzgerald, the United States attorney who oversaw the criminal prosecutions of successive Illinois governors on corruption charges as well as of the former Bush administration White House aide I. Lewis Libby Jr., will resign at the end of June, the Justice Department announced Wednesday.
